After recently purchasing Samsung’s new flagship smartphone the Galaxy S4, I have had a weird issue with some of my beloved weather widgets not updating.I had tried several different ones and after a period of time, the widget would stop updating or responding to the manual update input from touching the widget.I am trying to implement a simple widget for display on the home screen. The problem I am experiencing is that on Update is only being called once when I install the widget. Note: I will not leave update period at 20 secs as I know that would kill battery (just testing).I have the app and widget set to 30 minute updates.I have the widget on my main home screen and it doesn't ever change.I added it last night and when I got up this morning it still had yesterday's date and information on it.The only way I've found to get the widget to update is to tap it, open the app and then exit. I had updated Geir previously in a separate inquiry he had sent, but in testing the update - which takes 24 hours - we found additional update issues.
Since a couple of days/weeks, I noticed that my widgets aren't updating anymore on my home screens of my Nexus 6 (Android 6.0.1).Configuration: I am observing the following behavior when I install the widget: In my Widget Provider class on on Receive is called then on Enabled then on Receive, then on Update. After that the widget displays and on Update is never called again. I was going line by line through the docs and they didn't mention that.Take for instance the #Samsung Galaxy #S4, this Android smartphone which was once a flagship model has access to the Google Play Store which has more than a million apps available. Most of the apps available here are free while others come at a premium price.
